There isnt a bad thing to say, every aspect to this film is incredible. Such a fantastic creation and genuis concept, executed to perfection. One of only 3 films to win all 5 main Academy Awards and the only horror film to ever win 1 at all. That says it all. What many people do not seem to know is that Thomas Harris' inspiration for the novel "The Silence Of The Lambs" is a mix of real life serial murderers Ted Bundy, Ed Gain, and Garry Leo Ridgeway (aka The Green River Killer.
Ted Bundy was a serial murderer who use his charms and handicap ruse to lure his victims and then he would murder them and dump their bodies. When he got caught, Ted made a deal with the Federal Burau of Investigation to profile Garry Leon Ridgeway in hopes of helping them catch him. Garry was known as the Green River Killer because he would dump the bodies of his victims in the Green River in Washington. Bundy's profile helped capture Garry 11 years after he was executed. Ed Gain is the inspiration behind "The Texas Chainsaw. Ed would make masks, clothes, and table covers and what not out of the skin of his victims.

The Silence of the Lambs* is an excellent, brilliantly written story about an FBI trainee (Jodie Foster) who uses a confined cannibal (Anthony Hopkins) to help catch a serial killer (Ted Levine. All performances in this film are excellent, and Ted Levine's character is a spine tingling one who will keep you up at night. The Silence of the Lambs is a must for those suspense-lovers. This movie keeps you watching until the very last scene- never a bore. Jonathan Demme did a superb job directing, and the story is truly genius. Brilliant story, brilliant cast, brilliant movie. It deserved the many Oscars it won.
